Efficacious time to Pray
Tuesday, 29-March-2011, Author: Editor assalay.orgAlhamdulilllah, all praise be to Allah the Lord of this universe. He is the All-Knowing of state servants. He is also the All-Knowing all the needs of His servants. He also knows that His servants feeble in dire need of help. Therefore,
He commanded His servants to pray to Him, at once promised to grant the
prayers and supplications to Him if they fulfilled the terms and his manners. Allah says (which means):"And your Rabb said:" Pray to Me, I will answer you. Those who boast of worship Me (pray unto me) will go to hell in a state of abject Jahannam. "(Al-Mu'min: 60)The
reader rahimakumullah, in the above verse Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala
commanded His servants to pray to Him, and promised to grant the prayer
of His servant. On
the contrary, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala threaten His servants who are
reluctant to pray to Him for having fallen to the nature of pride. The reader, may God always pour grace, taufiq, and His guidance to us all. The essence, we can pray anytime and anywhere. However, there are certain times that have more value for the granting of the prayer. Therefore,
in this edition, we'll explain some time efficacious as a complement to
the two previous editions (5/II/VII/1430 and 15/IV/VIII/1431) about
manners and the terms of the prayer. May be useful.Among these times are:1. Night (Laylat al) Qadar'Aisha
radi' anha once asked the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam: "O
Messenger of Allah, what clue when I found tonight (laitul) Qadr, what
should I say?" He sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam replied: "Say (prayer ):«اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني»."O
Allah, Thou art merciful, loving act of forgiveness, so forgive me."
(Narrated by At-Tirmidhi, Ahmad and An-Nasa `i in al-Kubra)2. In the final third of the night and at dawnAllah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala mentions one of the attributes of His servants who believe in His word (the meaning):"And at the end of the night (meal time) they beg for mercy." (Adh-Dzariyat: 18)Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, to have said:«ينزل
ربنا تبارك وتعالى كل ليلة إلى السماء الدنيا حين يبقى ثلث الليل الآخر
يقول من يدعوني فأستجيب له من يسألني فأعطيه من يستغفرني فأغفر له»."Our
Lord the Most High fell to the lowest heaven every night when the
remaining third of the final night as he said:" Who prays to Me
undoubtedly I answered his prayer. Who asked to me undoubtedly I give what he asks. Who is asking forgiveness of Me and I will forgive him. '"(Narrated by Ibn Majah and Ahmad)3. At the end of the obligatory prayersAbu
Al-Bahili Umaamah radi 'anhu said: "Someone once asked the Prophet
sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam:" O Messenger of God, prayer is the heard
(granted)? "He sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam replied:«جوف الليل الآخر ودبر الصلوات المكتوبات»"Prayer
is offered in the middle of the night the end and at the end of the
obligatory prayers." (Narrated by At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasa `i in
al-Kubra)The scholars have different opinions about what is meant by the word ((دبر)) in the hadith above. Did he mean before or after the greeting greetings from prayer?Al-Imam Ibn Qoyyim rahimahullah said in his book, Zadul Ma'ad, 1 / 378:"((ودبر الصلوات المكتوبات)) could be a point before the greeting and can be afterwards. As for our Shaykh (Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah rahimahullah) reinforces the opinion that states before greeting. "While
the ash-Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen rahimahullah sighted at the end of every
obligatory prayer is before greeting, so that the prayer was offered
after the final and finished reading tasyahhud shalawat before closing
salutation as praying. Rahimahullah
He said: "History of the mention of prayer that is read in ((دبر
الصلوات المكتوبات)), means that the prayer was read before the greeting.
While
the dhikr which is stated to be read in ((دبر الصلوات المكتوبات)), then
the meaning of dhikr was read after the completion of prayers. Because
Allaah says (the meaning): "When you have finished of his prayers, dzikir you to God in a state of standing, sitting or lying on your
stomach-the stomach." (An-Nisa ': 103)4. Between Adhan and iqamahAnas Ibn Malik radi 'anhu said: "The Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam said:«لا يرد الدعاء بين الأذان والإقامة»."No prayer is offered rejected the call to prayer and iqamah." (Narrated by Abu Dawood)5. One time at nightJabir radi 'anhuma said: "The Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam said:«إن فى الليل لساعة لا يوافقها رجل مسلم يسأل الله خيرا من أمر الدنيا والآخرة إلا أعطاه إياه وذلك كل ليلة»."Surely
at night there is a time that is not concurrent with that of a Muslim
asks Allah goodness from the case of the world and the hereafter, but
God will grant the request, and it's on every night." (Narrated by
Muslim and Ahmad)Al-Imam
An-Nawawi rahimahullah as explained above hadith says: "In the hadith
contained a stipulation efficacious at one time every night, and the
exhortation to pray in times of night in the hope that coincides with
the time efficacious." (Al-Minhaj , 3 / 95)6. When I woke up at nightProphet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:"Whoever is awakened in the night and say:لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له, له الملك, وله الحمد, وهو على كل شىء قدير. الحمد لله, وسبحان الله, ولا إله إلا الله, والله أكبر, ولا حول ولا قوة إلا باللهThen say:اللهم اغفر ليOr pray, then granted (prayer). And if wudoo 'and prayed the prayer is accepted. "(Narrated by Al-Bukhari)Some
scholars said: "In these circumstances the more expected granted its
prayer as well as receipt of prayer than the time / other
circumstances." (See Tuhfatul Ahwadzi, 8 / 311)7. When the call to prayer and sealed his echoed his line, dealing with the enemy ranks on the battlefieldSahl
bin Sa'd radi 'anhuma said: "The Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam
said:" Two times / circumstances in which the gates of heaven opened and
rarely rejected the prayer offered at the time, when called upon call
to prayer (Adhan) and while
in the ranks in the way of Allah (when dealing with the enemy on the
battlefield, pent). "(Narrated by Ibn al-Baihaqy Hibban and in Al-Kubra)8. Sometime on FridayAbu Hurayrah said that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said on Friday, he said:«إن فى الجمعة لساعة لا يوافقها مسلم قائم يصلى يسأل الله خيرا إلا أعطاه إياه وقال بيده يقللها يزهدها»."Surely
the day Friday there was a time that is not the time coincided with a
Muslim who was praying and asking God a favor, but surely God will grant
it." He sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam signaled with his hand to show
the short time. (Agreed upon)Scholars differed about the limitations of his time. Some say time is the current entry to the mosque preacher. Some say when the sun has slipped, some say after the Asr prayer, and some are saying the time from dawn till sunrise. (Al-Minhaj, 6 / 379)Al-Imam
Ibn Qoyyim rahimahullah in Zadul Ma'ad (1 / 378), argues that a more
precise opinion on this issue is that the time after the Asr prayer,
based on the words of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam: "Surely
it's Friday there
is a time that is not an appeal of a good Muslim servant of Allah, but
Allah will grant it, and the time is after the Asr prayer. "(Narrated by
Ahmad)9. When prostratingAbu Hurayrah said: "The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:«أقرب ما يكون العبد من ربه وهو ساجد فأكثروا الدعاء»."At
the close of a servant to his Lord is when he is prostrating then multiply is by your prayers while prostrating." (Narrated by Muslim)10. Prayer on the day of ArafahProphet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:«خير الدعاء دعاء يوم عرفة»."The best prayer is the prayer on the day of Arafah." (Narrated by At-Tirmidhi and Al-Baihaqy)CoverThe reader rahimakumullah, including prayer is worship. Therefore,
it should we suffice with what has been exemplified by the lord and our
role models, the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, in its
implementation. An
example, if we want to use the opening when they wanted to pray, then
open it with an opening prayer syar'i (which is promoted by the Prophet
sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). Not
with the opening-opening which does not syar'i (which there is no
guidance), because the fatal result, our prayers can not granted. On the other hand, we can reap sin for having entered into a new case in matters of religion.
Wallahu a’lam bishshowab.
